Winter still had its grip on London when we stepped into The Cinnamon Club. How lovely then, to be greeted with a warm welcome in the shape of smiling staff and two elegant cinnamon bellinis.
Leon originally started as a one-shop concept on London’s Carnaby Street back in 2004. Since then Leon has savoured a brilliant response to it healthy fast-food approach, and has expanded to eight branches over London. Finding a place where a quick, healthy and affordable lunch was a possibility, hit home with Londonites. Leon’s recipe book is one fat tome, which includes some of the winning dishes from their menus.
If you love their house salad dressing, or their superfood salad, you can rustle these satisfying tastes up at home now too. There are brownie recipes, cooling drink recipes and the heartier likes of the meat section, which offers up such delights as sausage & bean pot pie. Melon and mint juice, spicy chicken couscous and Leon’s breakfast granola are all worth creating in your kitchen.
This recipe book also acts as a food guide too, with an encyclopaedia of ingredients included as well as useful pages like Leon’s seasonality chart. If that all sounds far too wholesome, there’s a cocktail section at the back for anyone that fancies going for some distilled purity. Just one tip: make sure you sit down with this book, unless you fancy working out your arms with its sizeable weight!
