Food-loving Londoners will be glad to hear that the open-air Covent Garden Real Food Market will remain a permanent fixture on the Piazza until Christmas. Hooray! The market is a superb place to indulge in gourmet treats for lunch or pick up some top-quality ingredients for dinner. There are over 32 stall including SJ Frederick & Sons’ free range Label Anglais chickens, Neal’s Yard Dairy cheeses, The Spore Boys’ famous mushroom sandwiches, The Garlic Farm, The Arabica Food & Spice Company, and for those with a sweet tooth, Crumbs & Doilies’ delectable cupcakes and Sugar Grain gluten-free cakes. It’s no wonder the market has proved to be so popular, especially with the addition of pioneering events such as the unmissable food bloggers stall run by the UK Food Bloggers Association (UKFBA). Bev Churchill of Covent Garden London comments, “The success of the Covent Garden Real Food market has been phenomenal and it seems the logical step to provide Londoners with a permanent seasonal market they can rely upon for their fresh produce.” The market will remain a weekly fixture every Thursday on the Piazza until November 12th and then every Thursday and Friday until the 18th December. And between the 8th and 11th October, the market will establish itself as the hub of the London Restaurant Festival. Visitors will be treated to special guest stalls hosted by some of London’s top chefs and suppliers, as well as the usual contingent of delicious, seasonal fare from artisan traders. Covent Garden Real Food Market is definitely an essential stop off for foodie Londoners. For more information visit: www.coventgardenlondonuk.com or call 020 3047 2555. Written by: Leila Sarraf
