El Bulli voted best restaurant in the world 2009

El Bulli is voted best restaurant in the world

El Bulli has been voted the best restaurant in the world at The S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants 2009 awards. El Bulli's Head Chef, Adria Ferran is enjoying the accolade for a fourth year running, with The Fat Duck (Heston Blumenthal) coming in at 2nd place, followed by Noma in Denmark coming in 3rd.

So you know what that means then? Yep, securing a table at El Bulli will be even harder this year, than it was last year, and the year before that, and the... you get the picture. If you fancy trying your luck at the top 10 restaurant reservation lists in the world, here they are:

1. El Bulli, Spain
2. The Fat Duck, UK
3. Noma, Denmark
4. Mugaritz, Spain
5. El Cellar de Can Roca, Spain
6. Per Se, USA
7. Bras, France
8. Arzak, Spain
9. Pierre Gagnaire, France
10. Alinea, USA

First published by Restaurant magazine in 2002 and now in its 8th year, The S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants is considered the most credible gauge of the best restaurants to eat at, around the world. The list is compiled by The Nespresso World's 50 Best Academy, a group of prominent food writers, critics, publishers and commentators, who each represent a different global region and chair a carefully selected voting panel for that region.
