BBC food shows live

Live food shows form the BBC

If cookery shows are your guilty TV pleasure, these events are for you. This October and November 2010 the BBC will be running a series of live food shows across the UK, where all our favourite TV chefs will gather together, showcasing their talents before the audience’s hungry eyes and rumbling stomachs.

There will be 4 different live shows in total:

  • The BBC Good Food Show Winter: This will be running from the 24th-28th of November at the NEC in Birmingham. Gordon Ramsey will be showing visitors how to make the perfect Christmas pudding; Saturday Kitchen live will be challenging visitors to “The Omelette Challenge”. There will also be an all star line up of celebrity chefs strutting their stuff in the Good Food kitchen, including James Martin, Rick Stein and Gary Rhodes. This is the ultimate Christmas foodie event.
  • MasterChef Live: This is being held between the 12th - 14th of November at London’s Olympia for the second year in a row. There will be celebrity chefs, food served by some of London’s top restaurants, and interactive features from the MasterChef series. And, if you fancy yourself as a bit of a master chef, visitors can enter the infamous “MasterChef Invention Test”.
  • The Wine Show: This will be running alongside MasterChef Live in Olympia. Experts such as Oz Clarke and Tim Atkin will be sharing their knowledge, and visitors will be able to join in tasting sessions, and to learn about how to choose wines.
  • The BBC Good Food Show Scotland: From the 22nd - 24th of Oct this show will be held in the SECC in Glasgow, and all the finest Scottish foods will be celebrated. Gregg Wallace, Gordon Ramsay, and MasterChef Winner Dhruv Baker will be among the celebrity chefs at the show. It’ll be spatulas at dawn with live celebrity cook-offs. But don’t worry, when your stomach starts to purr, Hardys will be sponsoring pop-up restaurants with dishes inspired by MasterChef.

All the events are reasonably priced between £16.50 - £20.50, and there are discounted rates for over 65s. For more information on any of these individual events click on the above links.
