An eye-opening Oscar-nominated US documentary Food, Inc. is screening in various cinemas throughout the country in partnership with the Soil Association.

In the highest-profile food documentary in the US since Super Size Me, filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the veil on the USA’s food industry. As with the UK, much of their food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment.

Widespread obesity and an epidemic level of diabetes among adults is bringing these films to the attention of commentators, campaigners and politicians as concern about industrial food processes grows.

Featuring interviews with experts Eric Schlosser, author of Fast Food Nation; and Michael Pollan, author of In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto, Food, Inc. reveals shocking truths about what we eat, how it's produced, who we have become as a nation and where we go from here.
