Everything about this cook book is relaxed, unhurried, calm.
The mini chain of boutique London bakeries, GAIL’s bakery, will be hosting its annual Garden Party on Saturday the 11th of September.
GAIL’s, which has branches in Hampstead, St John’s Wood, Notting Hill, Queen's Park, Chiswick and a recent addition in Battersea, is dedicated to “changing the way people think, feel and consume bread”. GAIL’s use only the highest quality ingredients for their bread, and have a diverse and frequently changing array of breads on sale. They have breads inspired by recipes from around the world, breads made using seasonal ingredients, and classic loaves with a twist.
The Garden Party will be held outside GAIL’s Hampstead shop on Oriel Place, Hampstead High Street. It is a free food festival that is now in its fifth year, and attracts around 10,000 people every year. Last year’s event saw companies such as Neal’s Yard Dairy, Meantime Brewing, Moro, Tor to Door, Gelato Mio, Porteña, German Deli, Patchwork Pate, Machiavelli, Tea Together, Chegworth Juices, Conscious Foods, Pinneys of Orford, Chilli Queen, Paul A. Young, St Germain elderflower liqueur, and of course, fine artisan bread from GAIL’s.
This year too there will be hoards of foodie stalls all day long, seeing those returning from last year and new comers alike. There will also be live music from several bands and entertainment for the kids. The event is being held partly to raise money for North London Hospice, a local charity.
