Mushroom season at Carluccio’s

Mushroom season is upon us and to celebrate this wonderful autumn vegetable, Carluccio’s are going mushroom mad. Open-air mushroom stalls will be set up outside certain Carluccio’s restaurants, where visitors will be able to peruse a broad selection of mushrooms, both wild and cultivated, fresh and dried.

Carluccio’s Mushroom stalls will be held in the following locations: 

  • Brighton, from the 11th & 12th September 2010
  • Stratford, from the 25th & 26th September 2010
  • Windsor, from the 2nd & 3rd October 2010

Fear not though mushroom lovers, all branches of Carluccio’s will be taking part. Carluccio’s restaurants will be stocking a selection of seasonal treats, such as mushroom salads and soups. There will also be all manner of mushroom and truffle products, and even gourmet ready meals available in Carluccio’s delis.

Products include:

  • Risotto Con Tartufi e Porcini, (300g, £5.95). This risotto with truffle and porcini mushrooms is a classic Italian dish.
  • Bricioloni Di Porcini, (£6.95). These dried porcini are an indispensable item for any store cupboard.
  • Bavette ai Funghi Porcini, (500g, £3.95). This delicious durum wheat pasta from Puglia is made with porcini mushrooms.
  • Mushroom Knife, (£17.75). An essential item for any mushroom hunter!

Antonio Carluccio had also published a book which tells you everything you could ever dream of knowing about mushrooms, from how to cook mushrooms you’ve bought, to how to find mushrooms in the wild. ‘Complete Mushroom Book – The Quiet Hunt’, will be on sale in Carluccio’s shops for £14.99.
