Organic Meltdown have teamed up with the World Land Trust to create the first chocolate bar to help combat global warming and preserve valuable wildlife habitats. With each purchase of chocolate, a tree will be saved in the rainforests of Equador. You can even track down your individual tree with a unique number printed on the chocolate wrappers.
The chocolates are made using carefully selected Fairtrade ingredients from Ecuador, Madagascar and Peru. They come in four scrumptious flavours; Swiss dark chocolate with candied orange (58% cocoa), Swiss milk chocolate with hazelnuts and currants (33% cocoa), Swiss dark chocolate (71% cocoa) and Swiss milk chocolate (33% cocoa). The hazelnut and currants bar was particularly delicious but why bother choosing one flavour when you can enjoy them all and save four trees whilst doing so – the perfect excuse to treat yourself.
Organic Meltdown is available in more than 150 Waitrose stores priced at £1.99, and from independent stores, delis and other outlets across the UK. Visit www.organicmeltdown.com for more details.
