‘Trader’ Vic Bergeron claims to have created this drink for friends of his at his bar in Oakland, CA. The couple who had just returned from Polynesia exclaimed ‘Mai Tai Roe Ae’ meaning “the best, out of this world”

5 minutes
Ingredients: 

50ml Aged Golden Authentic Caribbean Rum
20ml Orange Curacao
20ml lime juice
20ml syrup d’orgeat (almond flavoured syrup)
10ml gomme (sugar syrup)

Instructions: 

Shake the ingredients together and strain over cracked ice into a glass. Garnish with a mint sprig.
