Simple to make, but so good to eat. Sprinkle on top of soups, salads, seared scallops or a cheeky fried egg.
6 x rashers of bacon
1/2 tspn salt
1. Grill or fry the bacon until golden and crispy.
2. Line a plate with a piece of kitchen paper and place the bacon onto it, to blot it dry. Allow to cool.
3. Break each piece of bacon in half, and place in a pestle & mortar.
4. Add the 1/2 teaspoon of salt and pound lightly until you have tiny little delicious bacon crumbs.
Tips: try sprinkling bacon salt onto butternut squash soup, along with a handful of toasted nuts. It's also great for topping perfectly cooked scallops. Should you have any leftover (unlikely), pop the bacon salt into an airtight container and store in the fridge.
