Buttercup cupcakes

Buttercup cupcakes

Buttercup certainly know how to make the perfect pretty cupcake, with distinctly flavoured fluffy sponges, topped with heavenly buttercream frosting. There’s no excuse not to treat yourself.

Donna Egan, founder of Buttercup Cake Shop (London’s first bakery dedicated solely to cupcakes), has been baking since she was 8 years old. So it’s no wonder her cupcakes are so yummy and moorish that even celebrities such as Gok Wan, Jason Donovan and Gary Barlow are queuing up to sink their teeth into them.

Buttercup offer an impressive selection of flavours , each hand-made with the finest ingredients such as Nielsen-Massey vanilla and Callebaut Belgian chocolate. My personal favourite is the red velvet cupcake which is rich, moist and just pure heaven as well as the classic vanilla purist, which has a more generous topping of melt-in-your-mouth frosting. The banana cupcake is also great and has a fluffy and lighter texture, whilst the chocolate purist is dense and sumptuously sinful. Other flavours include coconut, cookies ‘n’ cream, banoffee as well as rotating flavours such as mocha, carrot, sticky toffee and chocolate zucchini.

What’s great about Buttercup is that each cake has it’s own individual taste, texture and look, so there is bound to be a cupcake for every person and occasion. The company now offers home delivery within Central London, so you don’t even have to venture anywhere to enjoy these comforting and highly addictive treats!

The cupcakes are priced at £2.50 each or £28 for a box of 12. They are available from the following two locations or online at www.buttercupcakeshop.co.uk. The Kensington cupcakery,16 St. Albans Grove W8 5BP. The kiosk at Westfield London Shopping Centre, on the first floor near M&S: One Ariel Way, London W12 7GF.
