Stewed!

Stewed!

If you are short of time for some slow-cooking this winter, then these gourmet stews are a great alternative - allowing you to enjoy hearty, wholesome and exciting flavours within minutes. Founded by entrepreneur and passionate foodie, Alan Rosenthal, Stewed! offers four distinctive flavours inspired from Morocco, Persia and Spain. Each stew is hand-made with natural ingredients and no nasty preservatives. I tried the chorizo, chickpea and pork stew, which was packed with chunk-upon-chunk of tender pork in a lightly spiced saffron and tomato sauce. The Persian chicken stew was a sumptuous marriage of eastern flavours; sour cherries, ground walnuts, pomegranate molasses and warming spices. Both stews were brimming with big flavours and generous amounts of meat and chicken making them the ideal winter warmers. The other two flavours available are Moroccan chicken stew with green olives and preserved lemons, and a vegetarian option of chickpea, roast sweet potato and feta. And if you serve the stew with rice, potatoes or cous cous, one pot is plenty for two people to enjoy!

The Stewed! range is available in 500g microwaveable pots from Ocado.com, Harvey Nichols, St Pancras station’s Sourced Market and in selected London Waitrose and Budgens stores. Prices range from £4.99 to £5.49.
